Paddle steamer moored at Gillingham pier
The historic paddle steamer Medway Queen is moored at Gillingham pier and will be open to the public from Saturday 11th February - Saturday 16th December. This beautiful ship built in 1924 was used as a minesweeper in WWII and joined the evacuation of allied troops from Dunkirk. During her ongoing restoration the Medway Queen will be open every Saturday, offering unique educational opportunities looking at local hisory, social history, WWII and the Dunkirk evacuation.
The visitor centre is free to visit and accompanied children under 16 are able to access the ship for free.
